And that's how we empower a renewable world.Basic Job Functions:Master Electrician - Utility Power Plants is responsible for assigned aspects of the maintenance and operation of utility-scale PV power plants. Duties include monitoring PV Plant operation through SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV systems, including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems.Experience:

  • A minimum of 12,000 hours (6 years) of practical electrical experience, including at least 4,000 hours (2 years) as a journeyman electrician.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance. Education/Required Certifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Master Electrician License required in the State of Utah.
    • Equivalent training in the military, utility, or power industry is a plus. Required Skills/Competencies:
      • Demonstrated knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards.
      • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.
      • Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis
      • Working knowledge of industrial or power facility operation and maintenance
      • Knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
      • Proficiency in reading and understanding Electrical schematics and prints.
      • Proficient at medium & high voltage switching.
      • In-depth experience testing and troubleshooting medium voltage and high voltage equipment, including transformers, potential transformers, current transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, and inverters.
      • Capable of retrieving relay files and documentation.
      • Fully fluent in utilizing a CMMS system for maintenance tracking.
      • Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) is required.
      • Must possess good English oral and written communication skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
      • Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues.
      • Highest level of Integrity.
      • Valid Driver's License. Essential Responsibilities:
        • Ensure a safe work environment by strict adherence to company protocols,
        • Responsible for personal safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
        • Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief, and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
        • With supervision be responsible for a variety of PM work including measuring, reading, testing, and performing maintenance procedures on all site components.
        • Communicate effectively with remote operators.
        • Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
        • Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted, and filed.
        • Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve a resolution to plant issues.
        • Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas as assigned.
        • Maintain work area and site housecleaning to 5S standards.
        • Other duties as assigned. Reporting Relationships:
          • Will report to most senior site managers or supervisors depending on on-site organizational structure.
          • May have tasks assigned by advanced technical staff - Technician III and above. Travel/Additional Compensation:
            • Travel will be required depending on the needs of the region.
            • Monthly stipend for holding Master Electrician License. Physical Requirements:Bending, kneeling, twisting, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, the ability to climb ladders, and wear PPE for extended periods of time.Ability to work in high and low temperatures, sun exposure, and navigate on uneven ground on foot.
