Assistant Professor, Agriculture (1-Year Replacement, Non-Tenure Track Position) Position Title Assistant Professor, Agriculture (1-Year Replacement, Non-Tenure Track Position) Position Type Faculty Department Location Eureka Summary The successful candidate for this full-time, one-year temporary faculty position will be responsible for teaching a full range of agriculture courses which may include any or all AG courses and to participate in the development of new courses. Additional responsibilities include: Organize and Participate in agriculture advisory committee meetings Engage in institutional, program, degree, and course-level assessment Participate in the College's shared governance process Professional development activities in the discipline Service to the community at large Teaching assignments may include night and weekend assignments and teaching courses through online or other distance modalities. Anticipated start date for this position is August, 2021 Preferred Qualifications Master's in agriculture, agriculture science, or education with specialization in agriculture or a Bachelor's in any of the above and a Master's in agriculture business, natural resources, animal science, plant science, soil science, forestry, pomology, agriculture engineering, environmental horticulture, agronomy, enology, viticulture, or the equivalent. Experience with organic and sustainable farming practices Education and Experience Education and Experience Minimum requirement: Any Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment, or an associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment. Salary Grade Determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful clearance of a criminal background check, pre-employment physical examination, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work. The District may select additional qualified candidates should unexpected vacancies or needs occur during the recruitment/selection process. When education is a requirement for the position, official academic transcripts from the accredited college/university will be required. College of the Redwoods Faculty Organization is the exclusive bargaining representative for College of the Redwoods faculty employees. Each employee hired into a faculty position shall contribute to the administration of this contract by membership dues or service fees. Initial salary placement is determined by education and teaching/professional experience. Refer to the CRFO Collective Bargaining Agreement for specific details on salary placement.
