Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant for the AMT program. The individual will be responsible for maintaining all AMT program records in accordance with FAA guidelines and the SUU operations manual. The individual will perform weekly audits on classroom attendance and student progress. In addition, the individual will work closely with marketing, student success, and SUU administrators to ensure all students are receiving the support they require. Classroom and instructor schedules will be developed and maintained and coordination with the scheduling office will be required. The individual will support instructor needs through assistance in course development, assignments, and grading as necessary.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and improve administrative process
  2. Point of contact for staff & students
  3. Perform regular document management tasks and audits
  4. Regular interaction with federal entities such as FAA & TSA
  5. Support grant writing efforts
  6. Provide administrative support for Director of Global Aviation Maintenance Training
  7. Communicate with other departments to create a schedule for incoming students
  8. Maintain documentation that tracks student progress
  9. Keep operations manual up-to-date per FAA standards
  10. Keep program syllabus up-to-date to match upcoming airman certification standards
  11. Keep track of registration for each semester
  12. Coordinate with academic scheduling every semester to make sure scheduling is up to date
  13. Support instructors through presentation creation, grading, and student success

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education required, Bachelor degree preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in administrative assistant or management roles
  • 1 or more years of experience in auditing and schedule development
  • Experience with Excel, Google Docs, Canvas, and Adobe
  • Experience developing schedules and maintaining records
  • 2 years of experience in the aerospace industry preferred
  • Experience managing teams preferred
