SummaryThis position is located at the Kayenta Service Unit, Division of Administrative Services, Facility Management Department, Kayenta, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a journeyman electrician in performing electrical maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and installation to assigned organization. The incumbent:Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots, loads and tests new and existing electrical systems, lines, circuit, fixtures, controls and equipment which is mainly on secondary distribution lines, loads and frequency requirements, distribution panels, switchgear, power and control circuits, electrical warning and lighting systems.Plans, routes, replaces, and specifies type, size, gauge of circuits and conductors. Balances loads and performs continuity and installation test for proper and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and stalls, modifies and troubleshoots, repairs electrical portions of equipment such as air conditions, boilers, dishwashers, air handlers, disposals, refrigerators, furnaces and appliance such as fans, light fixtures, freezers, and stoves.Maintains assigned and scheduled preventive maintenance per work orders within established time frames. Documents all parts and materials used to report the information via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to the Maintenance Scheduler. Reports parts and materials used to supervisor to track supplies and replenish to avoid PM And work order delays. Submits work orders within eight hours of completion.Troubleshoots, repairs or installs control circuits for electric equipment. Circuits may include electrical, mechanical or pneumatic systems or a combination. Incumbent is required to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Incumbent frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment, and parts that are up to 20 pounds, and less often up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, they lift or move with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing more than 40 pounds.WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed both inside and outside. Incumbent will make repairs and installations in bad weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or high lift at heights of 9 meter (30 feet) or more; and in close quarters such as attics as needed. They are occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and rotary devices such as electrical motors. They are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
