valid RN license from their state of residence. Tuba City Regional
Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides
services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral
center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations.
The hospital was constructed in 1975 with a bed capacity of 73.
Services provided to the community include comprehensive
inpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology
services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and
urological procedures. Approximately 49% of the surgeries performed
are outpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures. Learn more about our
organization. The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is
located in Northwestern Arizona on the land known as the Colorado
Plateau. This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400
in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston
Mesa. The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich
environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are
the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. This mixture along with
Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and
school systems make a pleasantly diverse community. The staff of
medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers,
internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice
physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons,
and urologists. Dental staff includes general dentists,
endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric dentists,
dental assistants and hygienists. The nursing staff includes
registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants,
community health nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, CRNA,
and community health medics.POSITION SUMMARY This position is
responsible for the evaluation and delivery of professional Staff
Development staff education in the critical specialty environments
(i.e. Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, and Trauma). The
incumbent is required to facilitate the Staff Development process
by planning, implementing and evaluating competency assessments for
continuing education and leadership development. Responsible for
developing educational methods, including lesson planning, survey
development, evaluation tools, record keeping and the design of
teaching materials to support the development of the clinician.
Works collaboratively with healthcare professionals to promote
better disease management and high standards of Staff Development
patient care. The incumbent must utilize cultural sensitivity and
maintain knowledge of cultural practices and beliefs. Serves as a
role model of professional behavior to promote a professional
nursing climate to meet the needs of the diverse department/units
within TCHRCC. Serves as the acting manager in the absence of the
Staff Development Director.Experience:? ?Bachelors Degree in
Nursing from an accredited school of nursing,A valid, current, full
and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing
in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of
Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States and maintained
throughout current employment, BLS and ACLS certifications from the
American Heart Association,ANCC Nursing Professional Development
(NPD) specialty certification, if none must complete certification
review course within six (6) months and attain the ANCC NPD
certification within one (1) year of hire,Three (3) years of acute
care nursing practice such as ICU, PCU, ER, or PACU/post-op
recovery,At least one (1) year of experience in clinical education
and staff professional development within the past two (2)
years,One (1) year of verifiable experience providing staff
orientation, involvement in educational program presentations or on
the job training of educating clinical staff..
