The Derrickhand is responsible for all work above the drill floor; monitoring and maintaining proper drilling fluid characteristics, the rate of fluid circulation, mud handling equipment, and the preventative maintenance program. Resourceful and a resilient individual who finds innovative ways to get the job done Enjoy working with your hands and do not mind getting dirty Stamina and strength to work hard in physically demanding positions and endure long hours in adverse weather conditions Physically fit and willing to work in an environment where there is a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol Client-focused and highly driven self-starter who encompasses integrity and pride in their work Positive, professional, and willing attitude Dedicated team player who can also operate independently with minimal direction while producing results Ability to work well under pressure, while balancing multiple demands Can be away from home for long periods of time Safety minded individual who is willing to actively participate in and support all industry, regulatory, and company standards, regulations and policies Essential Duties and Responsibilities Learn and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program and government safety regulations Support and promote to fellow employees the Company’s Policies, Procedures and Safety Programs Assist Driller with equipment maintenance specifically related to the circulating system Observe and maintain proper drilling fluid characteristics and mud handling Operate and maintain drilling fluid systems and pumps during drilling Work on or above the drilling floor, guide drill pipe during tripping process Set an example to fellow employees by adhering to all safe work practices and policies. Train new crew members to do the same. Ensure usage of proper safety equipment Ability to comply with company guidelines and work in a safe manner Minimum Requirements Minimum 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the USA Previous Derrickhand experience with over two years of drilling rig experience. Valid driver's licence and a reliable means of transportation to get to and from the rig location Ability to work in Texas-style housing accommodations Able to handle 20-day rotations and 12-hour shifts outdoors Be prepared with PPE (hard hat, steel-toed boots, fire retardant coveralls, safety glasses, gloves) Valid industry training certificates including, but not limited to: H2S Safety Training Fall Protection First Aid/CPR Confined Space What Twilight Has To Offer Starting pay for Derrickhands: $34.07/hr., with steady overtime Allowances: Includes live-out per diem and drilling fluid (mud) allowance Comprehensive group benefits package , effective immediately upon date of hire for Rig Manager, Driller, Derrickhand, and Motorhand positions. Coverage includes: Extended health care Dental care Life insurance Disability insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan – Employee-contributed retirement savings option. Coverall Program: One pair issued every 60 operating days to all rig crew members. Glove Provision: Twilight supplies both cloth and rubber impact gloves to all rig crews.
